The Ant and the Grasshopper is a comic book that illustrates Aesop’s famous fable, rewritten by Jean de La Fontaine. Through the comic format, I tried to present the iconic fable in a humorous way.

The story follows the Grasshopper, who spends the summer singing and dancing, carefree in the grass. As time passes, the Grasshopper comes to realize his mistake: he has failed to prepare for winter. When the season changes, he finds himself hungry and cold, having no food to survive. Desperate, the Grasshopper goes to the hardworking Ant and begs her for food.

This ancient story, told in a comic book format, is engaging and encourages reflection. The characters are full of energy with unique personalities.

To create this comic book, I started by drawing with pencil in my sketchbook. Once I had developed the forms of the characters and the natural environment, I continued the illustrations digitally. Finally, I chose a colour palette consisting of green, yellow, and blue tones associated with nature.

Let’s see my other illustrations projects. I create various book children’s illustrations, character design and comic book designs. I’m also on Instagram.
